AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship calendar revealed for 2026
The unified AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship will contest an eight-round calendar in 2026, with the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) on both its marquee Hi-Tec Oils Super Series and newly launched Short Track Nationals programs.
Featuring live broadcast at each round, the AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship is an unrivalled bang-for-your-buck development category racing at the country’s best circuits.
Opening with the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at Australia’s newest racing facility, Shell V-Power Motorsport Park on March 13-15, the championship then heads to Sydney Motorsport Park for its first event on the Short Track Nationals schedule using the Druitt layout on April 25-26.
Next up, the AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship re-joins the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series for rounds at Queensland Raceway (May 1-3), Sydney Motorsport Park (August 14-16) and Winton Motor Raceway (September 25-27).
The penultimate event for the AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship is at Mallala Motorsport Park on October 23-24 as part of the Short Track Nationals.
Calder Park will host the finale on its original layout used prior to the upgrades made back in 1986 as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series on November 6-7.
The calendar provides a solid mix of old and new style tracks, which will provide the perfect foundation for young drivers new to circuit racing.
Formula Ford debuted on the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series schedule in 2025 and produced great racing at its appearances on the platform. A new agreement with the Australian Formula Ford Association has increased interest in the series as it has rebranded to reflect this.
For 2026, all predictions indicate a bigger field and an increased level of competition.
The AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship will begin its new era at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park on March 13-15 as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.

Marcos Ambrose
AASA Competition and Commercial Director
“We expect Formula Ford in 2026 to be back to its former glory,” said Ambrose.
“AASA value Formula Ford and have put together a fantastic calendar.
“The drivers will get nearly three and a half hours of track time on average per weekend, heaps of live tv, shoot out qualifying sessions, long format races, double round weekends, big prizes and plenty of credibility and recognition to race for.
“Formula Ford has proven over the years to be one of the best driver training categories around. It’s very good value for money. Almost every professional driver in Australia today has driven in the class at some stage of their development.
“We have planned the 2026 calendar so it does not clash with Supercar and SRO weekends making it easier for drivers looking to add Formula Ford to their existing race programs. We already have some drivers joining, who intend to race multiple championships in 2026 to speed up their driver development.
“Even though car counts are up on 2025, more teams have joined and existing teams have built extra cars to meet the demand – so there are still cars, teams and drives available. All you have to do is call the AASA hotline and we will help you get racing.”
Phil Marrinon
Formula Ford Australia Administrator
“The Formula Ford Association has taken this opportunity to join with AASA as the best way to promote and foster the great category that is Formula Ford,” said Marrinon.
“Since 2013, the FFA has managed to offer the best racing available at a cost suitable to the competitors, however this opportunity will offer so much more for Formula Ford and open up even more avenues for our drivers future racing careers.”
