Jamie Rowe scores first Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship pole of the season

After a season full of bad luck last year, Jamie Rowe has made the best start to the Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship at The Bend by scoring pole for the first race.

Driving a Spectrum, Rowe set the fastest time with a 1m 22.589s to finish the session on pole ahead of BF Racing’s Oli Wickham by 0.180s.

Yesterday’s pacesetter Isaac Demellweek will start third for Holinger Racing alongside the satellite Sonic Mygale of Seth Burchartz.

South Australian Giuseppe Imbrogno was fifth for Synergy Motorsport from Sam March, Kaleb Balek, Xavier Henderson, Hunter Salvatore and Brad James to complete the top 10.

Rio Campbell was just outside the top runners in 11th ahead of Lachlan Mineeff, Tabitha Ambrose, Jett Leicester, Will Hickey and Ryan DeBorre.

Saturday’s opening race is due to commence at 12:35pm ACDT straight after the lunch break on SBS and Kayo Sports.
