Massive 2 Days of Thunder this weekend
The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series Season 4 – 2026 is back for Round 2 of the season, the 2 Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceway which commences tomorrow.
Despite its traditional name, the 2 Days of Thunder now runs over three days (May 1-3) and contains non-stop action including several races on Friday afternoon.
There are a couple of drawcard categories as part of the 2 Days of Thunder, the V8 powered TA2 Muscle Car Series will run its annual Tag Team Enduro, while the renamed Australian Endurance Championship will run a three hour enduro on Saturday night.
Both TA2 and the Australian Endurance Championship have attracted some big names in Australasian motorsport.
In TA2, current Supercars Championship front runners Brodie Kostecki and Ryan Wood will be competing. As well as two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison and Supercars Championship co-drivers Tim Slade, Nash Morris, Jarrod Hughes and Cam McLeod.
Other notable names include Touring Car Masters and Aussie Racing Car series winner Joel Heinrich, who will be joined by fellow South Aussie and Carrera Cup race winner Max Vidau.
Formula RX8 Series winner Brock Paine will share his car with former TA2 Muscle Car Series runner-up Brad Gartner.
Porsche ace Oscar Targett will aid Chris Smerdon, while Aussie Racing Car Series winner Kody Garland will be joined by Super2 driver Ayrton Hodson.
Apex Hunters United host and Trans Am ace Elliot Barbour will be on the grid, as will Bathurst 6 Hour winner Ben Kavich who sharing his car with Trans Am steerer Ben Grice.
The Australian Endurance Championship will contest the Ipswich 3-Hour under lights on Saturday night, the first round of its season.
Notable drivers include Fabian Coulthard, Grant Denyer, Tony Quinn, Tom Hayman and Oscar Targett who is performing double duty.
It is going to be a fascinating weekend, with high-performance Mercedes’, McLarens, BMWs and Toyotas competing.
The incredibly popular V8 powered Aussie-built supercars, the Innovation Race Cars will also be running a couple of longer distance endurance races, alongside two traditional sprint races.
After a thrilling start to the season, Round 3 of the Yokohama AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship takes place at QR, the same 17 drivers will be taking to the track.
It is tight at the top; Oli Wickham leads Sydney Motorsport Park round winner Seth Burchartz by just three points. Isaac Demellweek and Jamie Rowe are hot on their heels.
A week after their Nationals competition at SMSP, the TFH Hire Legend Cars Australia Championship will contest seven races as a part of the schedule.
Additionally, the 2 Days of Thunder will have a local flavour with the Queensland Touring Car Championship and Queensland Superkarts on the big stage.

Tomorrow’s action is highlighted by two Legend Cars races, Australian IRC Series and QTCC qualifying.
There is plenty of entertainment off track this weekend including a fireworks display on Saturday night, a bouncy castle for the kids and a range of food trucks.
There will also be a Show and Shine competition and drift demonstrations.
