Pye joins Hi-Tec Oils Super Series broadcast for Round 1

Two-time Supercars race winner Scott Pye will join the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series broadcast team for the opening round of the season at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park this weekend.

Round 1 takes place from March 13-15, with the broadcast covering action on both Saturday and Sunday.

Former Sandown 500 winner Pye will be a guest on the broadcast presented by TFH Hire. Throughout the opening event Pye will work as both a pit lane reporter and co-commentator.

Pye has broadcasting experience working for Supercars at the Ipswich 440 round held at Queensland Raceway last year, as well as hosting the successful and popular podcast Apex Hunters United with Trans Am driver Elliot Barbour.

The Triple Eight Race Engineering co-driver has an extensive career in motorsport, not only winning races in Supercars.

Pye started his car racing career in Formula Ford and had success not only in Australia, but also in Europe, winning the 2010 British Formula Ford Championship.

This year the Australian Formula Ford Championship will run under the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance banner, and Pye is excited to see the young talent in the open-wheelers.

The full Hi-Tec Oils Super Series broadcast team and telecast details will be announced very soon.

The opening round in South Australia will feature a vast array of categories headlined by the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

Other categories include the Yokohama AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship and pocket rocket TFH Hire Legend Cars Australia.

The Aussie built Hyper Racer X1s form the grid for the Hankook Australian Drivers’ Championship, and the locally built Innovation Race Cars make up the Australian IRC Racing Series.

The one-make Mazda RX8 Series, Formula RX8 returns to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at The Bend.

Attendance is free for fans at The Bend. Competitors can enter the event by clicking here.

Scott Pye – Supercars race winner

“I am very excited to be joining the team at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series for the opening round of the series at The Bend,” Pye said.

“This was something that was first presented to me by Marcos Ambrose, and really anything that Marcos is involved in I jump at.

“I've had conversations with the team from Hi-Tec Oils and I love what they're trying to do with the sport, really get back to what makes racing great again. If I can play a small part in that, that’s something I am very excited to do.

“I’m very excited to see the driving talent that's coming through the ranks as well, there’s a few categories that I'm very passionate about, particularly Formula Ford for me, something close to my heart.

“I raced Formula Ford first in my journey of motorsport, and I'm excited to see the talent coming through the ranks there and get to the opening round.

“I'm very happy to be part of the team, I love what Hi-Tec Oils is doing to support the sport, and I’m very happy to be a part of that journey.”
