West Australian Xavier Henderson set for maiden national season

Xavier Henderson is set to make his debut on the national stage when the Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship begins at The Bend as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series on March 13-15.

The 19-year-old from Western Australia is a second-generation racer, who is following in his father Michael’s footsteps.

Having recently purchased the Spectrum 015, which guided Joe Fawcett to second in last year’s Formula Ford Stars and Renegades Series.

Making his debut in the Spectrum at Sandown recently, Henderson competed against some of his rivals in the upcoming Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship and finished second outright for the meeting.

Henderson had no prior experience in a Duratec-powered Formula Ford nor at Sandown after stepping up from a campaign in the Western Australian Formula Ford Championship last year.

Sim racing has played an integral part of Henderson’s development and he recently compared the driving in the digital world compared to real life while testing at Winton Motor Raceway.

Vietnam’s largest steel fabrication company DAI DUNG will act as naming rights partner for Henderson’s program alongside minor partners in Singular Health, Emergency Triage Services and Holinger Engineering.

A competitive field will contest the opening round of the Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship at The Bend, South Australia as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series on March 13-15.
