Bryce Fullwood to drive Mustang in Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship
Supercars driver Bryce Fullwood will swap Chevrolet Camaro for Ford Mustang when he contests the 2025 Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship.
After recently racing in the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, Fullwood will now compete in the four-round Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship sharing the Ultimate Diesel Tuning Ford Mustang with Trent Whyte.
Fullwood is a previous winner of the Super2 Series back in 2019 and is currently undertaking his sixth full-time Supercars season, finishing a best of eleventh in the 2023 standings.
The Northern Territorian is a two-time podium finisher most recently at Symmons Plains Raceway last year.
“The Bathurst 6 Hour was a heap of fun,” said Fullwood.
“I had been dabbling in a bit of production car stuff with Trent and it’s a really cool series. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it and the cars are really cool.
“It’s almost like a mini-Supercars weekend. We’ve got some short and long races going on, and I think it’s cool.
“A lot of the production car guys are getting a lot of laps and there aren’t a lot of other categories doing longer format races like that. It feels like a proper race, with refuelling stops and driver changes, which is pretty cool.
“I’ve been enjoying going racing in the series.
“We’ve got 13 rounds this year and these days we really don’t get to spend time sitting in the race car. Testing is cut down so much it feels like you’re almost a part-time race car driver with the amount of racing that we do.
“For me it’s about driving race cars that still handle pretty good, doing pit stops and driver changes, which is stuff that we do just on a fun level.”
Just like its road-going companion, the Ford Mustang has become a popular choice for production car competitors and has proved a worthy contender to the dominant BMW models of recent times.
