Hi-Tec Oils Super Series heads north for 2 Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceway
The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series brings its wide variety of categories to one of Queensland Raceway’s premier events of the year, the 2 Days of Thunder on June 27-29.
Not only providing plenty of action on-track, plenty of activities for families will be hosted off it ensuring an entertaining weekend for all.
Headlining the 2 Days of Thunder is Round 3 of the TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo. A strong field led by young star Jarrod Hughes returns to the series after missing the action at Sydney Motorsport Park where Tim Brook filled in and completed the clean-sweep.
Fellow future prospects Ben Gomersall, Brock Paine, Brad Gartner, Alice Buckley, Ayrton Hodson and Josh Webster ensure a strong field will line-up at Queensland Raceway
Local James Simpson makes his return to the field and Lachlan Evennett completes double-duty by adding the TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo duties to his Formula Ford Stars Series campaign.
Bringing a representation of racing history to the event will be the Replica Tourers Trophy Series featuring a field paying homage to some of the iconic models of the past.
The Holden Commodore brigade of Brian Smallwood, Jason Grimmond and Steve Hay will be ones to watch, while Graham Woodward represents the Ford side of the ledger in his Mustang.
Bringing back the variety from touring car racing of the past include Shane Stuart’s BMW, the Escort of Geoff Gillespie, Gary Morgan in a Subaru BRZ and the Nissan Pulsar of Brayden Mooney.
The Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships will feature an exciting field for the QR Twilight 300 at the 2 Days of Thunder led by Tony Quinn’s newly constructed Chevrolet Camaro to be shared by Matt McCutcheon.
Trent Whyte and Bryce Fullwood will lead the Ford Mustang charge alongside Brad Carr, while Rohit Saini enters the fray in his HSV GTS.
Giantkiller Allan Jarvis leads the way in his Class D Volkswagen Polo GTI from the Class C Holden Astra HSV VXR of Oskar Butt and Troy Derwent.
Both will have increased competition at Queensland Raceway, with Jake Camilleri bringing significant heat to Class C in his Mazda 3 MPS alongside another Holden Astra HSV VXR of Chris Holdt.
A pair of Toyotas will provide Jarvis competition in Class D.
BMW, FPV and Mercedes-AMG are represented including the return of Mark Griffith to field in his A45 AMG to be shared alongside Tom Hayman.
Providing plenty of action in Sydney was the TFH Hire Legend Cars Australia and a large field will be on hand to do the same up north.
Entering the weekend as the driver to beat is Askr Sendall after a successful round last time out, but the likes of Dylan Thomas, Aidan Williams and Shane Tate.
Welcoming the Mazda MX-5s as a new class, the Plazaman Super Tin Tops brings variety to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series in the form of mildly modified BMWs, Nissans, Fords, Mazdas, Holdens, Toyotas and more.
Innovation Race Cars will have a strong field as the returning Geoff Taunton and Grant Donaldson will add to the competition experienced in Sydney between Geoff Emery, John Holinger and Danny Stutterd.
The Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series is set to heat up when it hits Queensland Raceway as the likes of Joe Fawcett, Lachlan Evennett and Will Lowing aim to close the gap to title leader Kobi Williams.
The PMP Excel Series returns to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series program for more action-packed racing featuring the likes of Tyler Collins, Fraser Sturgess, Brett Parrish, Matt Boylett and Josh Richards.
A combined field of local Queensland-based categories covering Australian Trans Am, Hot Hatches and Utes cap off the on-track action.
Combine this with the off-track activations featuring a DJ, burnout demonstration, jumping castle, kids race, a multitude of food options and a bucking bull.
Tickets start at $25 on Saturday, $35 on Sunday and $55 for a weekend, while corporate experiences begin at $65.
Saturday night will host a special night featuring interviews with Marcos and Tabitha Ambrose alongside other guest speakers. At $80, the event is catered and giveaways will be held throughout the evening.
