Inaugural Formula Ford Stars Series season enters its conclusion
The Formula Ford Stars Series returns to where it all started in march to conclude its season at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series finale, the Winton Wrap.
A thrilling season of racing will draw to a close as the fight for the minor places heat up.
Multiple race winner Lachlan Evennett will be absent from the final round leaving Kobi Williams the inaugural series winner.
Evennett holds a 93-point lead from Joe Fawcett, although 200-points are on offer across the weekend providing an opportunity for this to change.
However, Fawcett will be under pressure from both Jamie Rowe and Will Lowing for third place.
Rowe had endured a tough season including a rollover at Sydney Motorsport Park, but has come on strong in the last two rounds at Queensland Raceway and Mallala. He sits 57-points behind Fawcett heading into the final round.
As for Lowing, consistency has been key this season and he is positioned a further 11-points behind Rowe in fifth.
It was a tough round for Jack Johnson at Mallala, but returning to familiar ground at Winton will make him a driver to watch as he aims to hold off Marcos Ambrose Motorsport’s Brad James in the standings.
James has displayed solid improvement during the season and lies just 18-points in arrears of Johnson.
Tabitha Ambrose in the second MAM entry will hope for improved luck as she attempts to finish with season best results.
Rounding out the field is Mallala debutant Isaac Demellweek, who impressed in South Australia almost immediately when he finished on the podium after Sunday’s action.
The Winton Wrap will host the final rounds of the inaugural Formula Ford Stars Series on October 31-November 2 in association with the last event for the 2025 Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.
