Kobi Williams won’t mess with winning formula at season finale

Formula Ford Stars Series leader Kobi Williams won’t change his approach heading to the final round at the Winton Wrap.

Williams has been the class of the Formula Ford field in 2025 after clocking up 12 wins this season to hold a significant 175-point advantage back to sparring partner Lachlan Evennett.

The philosophy Williams has carried through the season won’t change despite his points advantage as he targets further trophies at Winton.

“I’m just going to approach like I normally,” said Williams.

“I’ll just go about it my business in a way where I’m finishing every race to gain as many points as I need to stay ahead in the title, though I do have a healthy gap.

“I want to still try and get a couple of race wins without being too desperate to make sure I’m winning the title still.”

Williams believes his advantage this season has been the ability to alter his style to suit different circuits and do this in quick fashion.

“One of my skills is adaptability,” Williams revealed.

“I’m able to go to new circuits, try new things and I’m open to driving all sorts of cars. I am able to adapt to these things and it is one of my strengths.”

If Williams does seal the title at Winton, he will receive a cash prize and a TA2 test with Marcos Ambrose Motorsport, which is an exciting prospect for the rising star.

“If the opportunity does come my way to test at TA2 car, I’m definitely excited for that,” said Williams.

“I know Marcos is full of knowledge across all sorts of race cars, so it’d be nice to bounce a few ideas back and forth to learn as much as possible from him.”

The final round of the Formula Ford Stars Series will be held as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series Winton Wrap event on October 31-November 2.
