Lachlan Evennett completes qualifying sweep at Mallala

Lachlan Evennett has further enhanced his Formula Ford Stars Series title aspirations after securing pole and a further 10-points at Mallala.

Evennett set the pace on a 1m 10.405s to take his second pole position of the round by 0.257s ahead of Joe Fawcett.

For Fawcett, he must score 33-points more than series leader Kobi Williams across Sunday’s action to remain in the title fight.

A remarkable result in third was Isaac Demellweek after a large repair job overnight was completed to fix his Spectrum following an incident during Saturday’s opening race.

Demellweek will line-up alongside series leader Williams on the second row in what has been an uncharacteristically tough round for the 11-time race winner.
Fifth was Jamie Rowe from Will Lowing, Ethan Fitzgerald, Hunter Salvatore, Brad James and Jack Johnson completed the top 10, 1.077s off the pole time.

Tabitha Ambrose, Kaleb Belak and Giuseppe Imbrogno completed the field.

The opening Sunday race for the Formula Ford Stars Series will commence at 1:15pm ACST/1:45pm AEST live on SBS, SBS On Demand and Kayo.
