Victory for Lachlan Evennett to kick off Sunday’s race action
A masterclass from Lachlan Evennett has further cut the margin to Formula Ford Stars Series leader Kobi Williams at the Mallala Masters.
Evennett dominated the opening race on Sunday’s schedule by 3.937s from Williams, who had to endure intense pressure from Joe Fawcett throughout the event.
Fawcett led the early stages as Williams struggled to make inroads from fourth.
Evennett took the lead on lap 2 and was never headed as Fawcett’s focus soon turned to the threatening Williams.
The duo battled within close quarters as Williams managed to score a close second from Fawcett.
Behind, Jamie Rowe came out on top in a battle against debutant Isaac Demellweek, Will Lowing and Hunter Salvatore.
Ethan Fitzgerald was eighth ahead of Jack Johnson and Giuseppe Imbrogno to complete the top 10.
Just behind were Brad James, Kaleb Belak and Tabitha Ambrose as the last six drivers duked it out for the final spots inside the top 10.
Just one race remains for the Formula Ford Stars Series at the Mallala Masters beginning at 3:25pm ACST/3:55pm AEST.
