Oli Wickham completes hat-trick of Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship poles at Queensland Raceway
Championship leader Oli Wickham continued his top qualifying form to score his third pole in a row at Queensland Raceway.
It was a very close session as the top 13 were within a second heading into the opening race at 1:05pm AEST.
The first 13 drivers were separated by a second, with the Yokohama Tyre Australian Formula Ford Championship again showcasing the closeness of the competition.
After setting the pace in two of the three sessions on Fast Friday, Wickham was on top again with a 1m 14.997s to score a hat-trick of pole positions.
It was a fine margin as just 0.015s separated the title leader and Will Lowing in second.
Coming back from a scoreless Round 1 at The Bend, Lowing scored a third and a fourth in Sydney to arrive up north in hot form.
Holinger Racing’s Isaac Demellweek lines up third alongside fellow title contender Seth Burchartz of Team Sonic.
Fabcon-supported driver Jamie Rowe lines up on the third row, with rookie Jett Leicester putting in his best qualifying performance to be sixth.
Xavier Henderson is next alongside Hunter Salvatore, while Brad James and Kaleb Belak share the fifth row on the grid.
Giuseppe Imbrogno is next leading Lachie Mineeff, Sam March, Will Hickey, Ryan DeBorre, Tabitha Ambrose and Rio Campbell.
Saturday’s action continues with the opening race at 1:05 pm, broadcast live on SBS and Kayo Sports.
