Pole for Kobi Williams to kick off Winton Wrap Sunday

Kobi Williams has continued to lead the way in the final Formula Ford Series event at the Winton Wrap after scoring pole position for Sunday’s opening race.

Improving on his second lap after holding just a 0.067s margin to second-placed Will Lowing, Williams’ last push lap produced a 1m 26.233s to further extend his lead.

Lowing has enjoyed a superb event to date after finishing second in Saturday’s two races and will share the front-row with Williams after being just 0.207s off his benchmark.

Joe Fawcett will continue his push to overhaul Lachlan Evennett for second place in the standings from third alongside Jamie Rowe as 0.523s covered the first four positions.

The equation for Fawcett to take second is a further 40-points is required to take second in the standings across the upcoming two races.

Brad James led the Marcos Ambrose Motorsport charge in fifth and will share the third row with Isaac Demellweek.

Tabitha Ambrose continues her rapid improvement to close the gap to the leaders in seventh as Jack Johnson rounds out the field.

Sunday’s opening race is due to start at 2:05pm AEDT.
