Lights-to-flag victory for Kobi Williams at Winton Wrap

It was another dominant victory for Kobi Williams to kick off Sunday’s race action for the Formula Ford Stars Series at the Winton Wrap.

Williams led from pole and was able to build a comfortable margin back to the field, which he held until the end.

It marks Williams’ 15th win of the season in what has been a breakout season in Formula Ford for the driver now in his fourth season.

Will Lowing continued his hot form to score second by holding off the advances of Joe Fawcett, which included an attempted pass at Turn 3 that nearly came off.

Fawcett requires 20-points to overhaul Lachlan Evennett for second in the standings.

Not having the pace of the leading trio, Jamie Rowe ran fourth and has dropped behind Lowing to be fifth in the point’s table.

Getting closer in each race is Brad James for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport after adding another top five result ahead of Isaac Demellweek and Jack Johnson.

Tabitha Ambrose’s luck failed to improve following a visit to the pits and finished well down on the field following her return to the track.

The season-ending Formula Ford Stars Series race is scheduled for 3:55pm AEDT.
