Clean-sweep for Kobi Williams to end dominant season

Kobi Williams has completed the inaugural Formula Ford Stars Series season how he started it, with victory.

Williams had to work hard during the opening laps to defend against Will Lowing, until the latter went off at the Turn 5 sweeper to end his challenge.

Lowing still managed to maintain second ahead of Joe Fawcett and Jamie Rowe, with both swapping positions early in the race.

Hot conditions proved a challenge for the drivers towards the end of Sunday’s Hi-Tec Oils Super Series schedule, however the only retirement was Tabitha Ambrose due to a recurring ignition problem.

Behind the lead quartet, Brad James completed his best round of the season by adding another fifth to the three he had already scored across the event, while Isaac Demellweek was unable to make any in-roads on the way to sixth.

Jack Johnson was a distant seventh due to a clash with Ambrose, which led to a spin and subsequently becoming stuck on the edge of the track.

Williams takes a commanding title victory from Fawcett, who overhauled event absentee Lachlan Evennett in the final race.

Lowing fell one-point short of scoring third, but moved up a place at the expense of Rowe.

The inaugural Formula Ford Stars Series comes to end, with a calendar to be announced and further details in due course.
