Seth Burchartz makes it four different winners in Sydney

A last gasp pass on the final lap has delivered Seth Burchartz victory in the final Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship race in Sydney.

Burchartz has strengthened his title chances by securing victory after championship leader Oli Wickham finished back in sixth and Isaac Demellweek failed to finish.

A bold move around the outside of Turn 2 on the final lap proved the pivotal move for Burchartz as he defeated earlier winner Will Lowing by the barest of margins.

Lowing had led throughout and survived an awkwardly timed Pace Car to collect the stricken Spectrum of Demellweek.

Jamie Rowe recovered well after failing to finish the first race to score another podium in third ahead of Lachie Mineeff and Sam March.

Behind, Wickham held off the advances of Hunter Salvatore and Rio Campbell, while Kaleb Belak charged to ninth ahead of Giuseppe Imbrogno.

Just missing out on a top 10 finish were Will Hickey and Tabitha Ambrose after an intense battle.

Completing the field were Jett Leicester, Xavier Henderson and Ryan De Borre in his repaired Spectrum.

Brad James was a late retirement alongside Demellweek.

The next round of the Yokohama Tyre AASA Australian Formula Ford Championship is at Queensland Raceway as part of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series’ Fight in the Night event.
