The ‘Fight in the Night’ is up next for the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series
The traditional ‘Fight in the Night’ meeting headlines Round 4 of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series at Queensland Raceway.
As part of a northern swing, the ‘Fight in the Night’ enjoys a more than 13-year history as a prestigious event on the production car calendar.
The Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships is enjoying its first season as part of the AASA-sanctioned Hi-Tec Oils Super Series having contested rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park and Queensland Raceway.
Bringing the ‘Fight in the Night’ to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series ensures another great event bolsters an already enviable suite of events.
In the past, the Mitsubishi and BMW brands have dominated the event in addition to the likes of Garry Holt, Ryan McLeod, Stuart Kostera, Glenn Seton, Rick Bates and Bob Pearson tasting success at Queensland Raceway.
Beric Lynton lays claim to the most victories in the event at six having won his first 10 years ago in 2015 driving the BMW 1M.
Joining Lynton for five of those victories was loyal deputy Tim Leahey as the duo upgraded along the way from the 1M to M3 winning their final ‘Fight in the Night’ in 2023.
It’s expected the reigning ‘Fight in the Night’ winners Hadrian Morrall and Tyler Mecklem will return to defend their crown in the Parramatta Vehicle Services Ford Mustang against stiff competition.
As witnessed at Round 2 of the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships at Queensland Raceway, the battle at the front was close between a variety of entries.
Leading the way was the Mustangs of Lindsay Kearns and Trent Whyte, Tony Quinn’s Chevrolet Camaro in addition to the BMW of Team Buccini Racing plus there will be some other new contenders joining for the ‘Fight in the Night’.
The next round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series carries an endurance theme as joining the three-hour ‘Fight in the Night’ race is a two-driver TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo event, a longer format Innovation Race Cars weekend, a sprint round for Queensland Formula Vee, Australian Super TT Championship and Superkarts.
The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series continues at the ‘Fight in the Night’ hosted by Queensland Raceway on August 15-17.
