Kobi Williams completes pole-sweep in Queensland
Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series leader Kobi Williams continued his golden run to take pole for second day of race action at the 2 Days of Thunder hosted by Queensland Raceway.
Williams lowered his mark from Saturday by setting a 1m 14.747s to finish the session 0.289s ahead of Joe Fawcett.
Traffic was a problem throughout the session and rain at Turn 3 made for a tricky conclusion.
Behind Williams and Fawcett was Saturday’s main contender Lachlan Evennett, while Jamie Rowe is well positioned to add to his podium count from fourth.
Hunter Salvatore benefitted from a tow courtesy of teammate Williams to finish the session fifth as Ethan Fitzgerald enjoyed his best qualifying result of the season to share the third row.
Marcos Ambrose Motorsport’s Brad James will line-up seventh alongside Jack Johnson, with Fraser Hie and Tabitha Ambrose completing the top 10.
Andrew Torti endured a suspension malady and this led to a trip into the Turn 6 gravel trap as his crew complete repairs ahead of the upcoming race.
Also encountering trouble was Will Lowing, who will need to charge through the field.
Sunday’s opening race will commence at 1:30pm AEST featuring on the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series livestream, SBS On-Demand, Fox Sports and Kayo.
