Kobi Williams sets pole position for Winton Wrap

Formula Ford Stars Series champion-elect Kobi Williams has secured pole position for the final round of the season at the Winton Wrap.

Warm conditions welcomed drivers for Formula Ford Super Series qualifying at the Winton Wrap, the final round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.

Williams endured a tough opening day on Friday, but turned it on for qualifying by clocking a 1m 25.349s lap to secure pole.

Lining up alongside Williams on the front-row is the sole Mygale in field driven by Will Lowing after he fell 0.420s short of the pole time.

Aiming to jump absentee Lachlan Evennett for second in the title, Joe Fawcett is positioned well in third after setting the pace in two out of three Friday practice sessions.

Sharing the second row is the Fabcon entry of the improving Jamie Rowe.

Following his Mallala podium on debut, Isaac Demellweek will start from fifth alongside Marcos Ambrose Motorsport’s Brad James in the Carac-supported Spectrum.

Completing the field is Jack Johnson in the Accredited Distributors Spectrum and Tabitha Ambrose for Marcos Ambrose Motorsport.

Just 1.5s separated the field in qualifying and 0.5s covers the top four, which promises great action for Race 1 at 1:40pm AEDT.
