Kobi Williams takes three out of four in Queensland
Kobi Williams has made it three out of four at Round 3 of the Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series at Queensland Raceway for the 2 Days of Thunder.
It was a hard fought race just like the earlier race, but it was Lachlan Evennett leading from pole courtesy of his race victory to head the field through Turn 1.
Williams held onto second from Jamie Rowe after he passed Joe Fawcett at Turn 3 and this top three were to breakaway.
Meanwhile, Fawcett fell into the clutches of Hunter Salvatore, Brad James and Will Lowing.
It was Salvatore proving the greatest challenge to Fawcett as the two traded fourth allowing James and Lowing to close in.
At the front, Williams took back the lead with six-minutes remaining and was able to sustain the pressure from Evennett and Lowing to take his third victory of the weekend.
The battle for fourth was won by Salvatore for his best result of the season after Fawcett and Lowing made contact at Turn 3. James was unable to take advantage of this after slowing during the closing stages.
Jack Johnson endured a tough weekend, but ended it in seventh ahead of Fraser Hie and Tabitha Ambrose.
James and Ethan Fitzgerald failed to finish.
Williams extends his lead entering the round and will be hard to beat as the Formula Ford Stars & Renegades Series heads to Mallala on September 26-28.
