The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series prepares for battle at the Fight in the Night

The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series prepares to head into endurance mode as it returns to Queensland Raceway for the fourth event on its schedule, the traditional Fight in the Night.

A wide variety of categories will provide plenty of action on-track, while plenty of attractions off ensure this event is one for the families.

The Fight in the Night welcomes a distinct endurance flavour to the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series thanks to the TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Racing Series presented by Maritimo, Australian IRC Racing Series and the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championships, which will contest the headline race.

Plenty of star power will feature in TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Racing Series presented by Maritimo ranks at Queensland Raceway as part of its traditional two-driver round.

Series leader Jarrod Hughes will be aiming to extend his margin and will have multiple Supercars champion and seven-time Bathurst winner Craig Lowndes as co-driver for his first TA2 event.

Hughes’ teammate Alice Buckley won last time out on her debut and has mentor, two-time Supercars race winner Tim Slade joining her efforts for the round.

The star power doesn’t end there as 2023 Supercars champion and reigning Bathurst winner Brodie Kostecki links up with Bathurst Triple Crown victor Paul Morris.

Kostecki’s co-driver from that success, Todd Hazelwood will also be part of the field alongside Trans Am frontrunner and Supercars full-timer James Golding, the experienced George Miedecke, rising star Declan Fraser, TCR race winner Jordan Cox and last year’s TA2 Muscle Car Racing Series champion Josh Haynes.

Third generation racers Ben Bargwanna and Clay Richards link up also in what is touted as the most competitive local field for this category.

The schedule features a sprint race for each driver alongside a 45-minute enduro on both Saturday and Sunday.

Enjoying a history spanning back to 2012, the Fight in the Night continues to be the marquee event on the Hi-Tec Oils APC Enduro Championship calendar.

Hosting three races on Saturday including two 30-minute sprint events before the Fight in the Night three-hour on Saturday night, which will be contested by a season-high 26 entries spanning classes X to D.

Ford’s Mustang has dominated the season so far, but new entries from BMW, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz and more are sure to challenge this.

Class D will be one to keep an eye on featuring a large number of entries representing Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen and BMW.

The Fight in the Night marks Round 2 of the Australian IRC Racing Series Endurance Championship where drivers can elect to go it alone or share the load for two one-hour races.

The Eastern Sleepers Aussie Tin Tops will be a category to watch at the Fight in the Night as the eclectic mix of models make for some great action.

The ever-consistent Ford Falcon driver Brett Edwards is a force to be reckoned with, as is Cory Gillett in his giant crushing Nissan Silvia.

All the other regulars are competing, machines include Mazda MX5s, Skylines, Commodores and Falcons.

Other categories are Formula Vee Australia, Queensland Touring Cars and Queensland Superkarts.

Non-racing activities include a TA2 signing session at 12pm on Saturday, grid walks prior to the Sunday event for TA2, free access to the pit paddock, bucking bull, jumping castles, food tracks, merchandise, a Ringers Western activation and much more

There will also be a raffle to raise money and awareness for a rare Neurological Disorder called KIF1A.

Ticket prices start at $25 on Saturday, $30 on Sunday or a weekend pass costs just $55, with Friday entry free. Corporate experiences begin at $80 offering morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series can be viewed via the livestream through its offical YouTube Channel on 11am Saturday and 10am Sunday. SBS On-Demand, Fox Sports and Kayo will also feature coverage between 1pm and 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Round 4 of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series, the Fight in the Night at Queensland Raceway will be held on August 15-17.
